Collection and consolidation technology ®ICON3-C&C

The ®ICON3-C&C technology is designed for providing collection and consolidation of data from distributed sources. These processes underlie accounting issues in large-scale enterprises. It is assumed that these enterprises have a central governance structure, responsible for consolidated accounts and strategic decision making, and a number of peripheral structures that are charged with providing the governance structure with required information. The governance system may be hierarchical in which peripheral structures function as central ones for structures of lower level. In the context of the ®ICON3-C&C technology central structures are regarded as consolidation centers and peripheral structures are data sources.

The ®ICON3-C&C technology is able to support:

  • a wide range of accounting issues, including total or sampling inventory taking, property movement and transformation monitoring in large-scale enterprises
  • arbitrary scale of accounting systems from separate local organizations to global national systems
  • integrability into governance systems

The structure of the ®ICON3-C&C technology contains the following elements:

  • a repository (a common data base of consolidated property data and on-line accounting documents) that provides:
    • storage of data in a consolidated array
    • control of data consistency
    • maintaining data archive and history of accounting documents changes
    • supporting data actualization
    • data structuring for register ®ICON3 systems
    • accounts preparation
  • an application server, which controls functioning of the repository and Web-portal and organizes reception and transmission of collection forms
  • a collection Web-portal, which provides:
    • preparation and provision of collection forms for their further infill
    • consolidation of completed accounts
    • access control
    • control of information processing
    • receiving reports from the repository
    • publishing and revision of the accounts
  • a collection client (an application allowing the user to fill in, save and send data to the consolidation center), which provides:
    • data input, modification and local saving
    • communication with the Web-portal
    • loading and unloading data from the collection center
    • control of data input
    • revision of the accounts
